Yes, honey, I see how much fun the boy is having on his Radio Flyer Soft Rock & Bounce Pony. It’s just that I’m a little concerned about where this could lead, that’s all. One day it’s innocent, active play rocking back and forth or bouncing up and down as he hangs on to the easy-grip handles, and the next it’s smoky pool rooms and having too much pride to change.

Can’t we get him a rocking courtroom gavel with rubber bounce suspension that will gently guide him towards a career in law? What about medicine? Surely, in this day and age, we can find a ride-able kidney or liver and such that plays motion-activated songs and sounds on 3 AA batteries. Or how about a great big anthropomorphic student loan with fun crinkley ears?

I know, I know, I’m just being overprotective. Clearly, he’s having a good time, so you win. I’m not going to fight you on this. And if it turns out he wants to be a cowboy when he grows up, I’ll support Sue in every way I can.
