It's not about what you can build. It's not about what you can't build. It's about WHERE you build. In reality. That's why blocks like these are cool.

Nobody's saying your child's dinosaur/rocket ship isn't creative, just like nobody's saying your child's conceptual 1930s City Hall isn't creative. Really, they're two different paths. Like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Joyce and Lovecraft, everyone has to find their own way to express their genius.

Which brings us to these blocks.

You'll notice that this block set has a variety of jumbo-sized, quite colorful building blocks that are designed for small hands. What doesn't this set have? A simple 1x1 block. And that's a good thing!

Your child, in the real world, won't be able to arrange atoms and molecules to make that crazy couch or stylish sculpture. Your child, in the real world, will have to fit their dreams into someone else's pre-existing reality. In the world of imagination, they can do anything, sure. But is that the world we live in? Nope. Nope indeed.

Your child needs to have fun with blocks, but they also need to accept that, sometimes, they'll have to snap a 1x2 into a 4x2  and call it a day. Remember, imagination isn't the same as genius. And nobody ever wanted their child to grow up and be a helpless daydreamer.
