It's not unusual for children to have nightmares. It's not even all that unusual for them to have really weird nightmares where like, oh I don't know, they get eaten alive by giant reptiles. Some psychologists recommend desensitization therapy where people come face-to-giant-scaly-face with the thing that scares them most until it doesn't scare them anymore.
