Destruction, Thy Name Is Dakody
Chief Stupidface was at his wits end. For weeks, the criminal mastermind known only as "Dakody" had been terrorizing the citizens of Train Town. Dakody had sabotaged their airplane and helicopter. He'd taken control of the town crane, wreaking havoc on the small wooden buildings.
He'd even switched the only six street signs in town, leading to pandemonium during the morning commute. So if it was frozen treats he wanted, if that's what it took to keep the peace, then that's what the Chief was going to give him.
"Okay, Dakody," the Chief announced into the bullhorn as he stood in front of the mountain of ice cream sandwiches he and his men had built in the town square.. "We have what you asked for! Now what?"
Chief Stupidface was met with nothing but silence. There had been no other instructions in the note. Perhaps all Dakody had wanted was to watch it all melt in the warm summer sun as the city's children looked on, wishing for a treat they could never have. Poor things. When they were older and could still look with pride upon the sturdy wooden train system that had supported them all for decades, maybe then they would better appreciate sacrifice they all were making.
"Dakody! We have met your demands! Now show yourself!" Still nothing. What was wrong? He paced around the pile of cold confections. Shouldn't there be some sort of sign? A new message stating that they'd saved the 3-piece Jumbo Bridge? What sort of dark-hearted fiend were they dealing with here that would just leave them wondering and waiting all this...
No, he thought staring at the ground just ahead of him. No, that can't be what I think it is. There's no way that could be an empty ice cream sandwich wrapper.
As he rushed over, all of the hope drained from his heart. He lifted the wrapper into his hands and looked about, desperate for an answer to why this had happened. That's when he saw Officer Doodiehead brushing crumbs from his uniform and belching. He shrugged back at the Chief. "Sorry, boss. I got a little hungry."
BOOM.
