The big bowling triathlon had been their chance to get even.

And they had done it, just the two of them together, but now Serial Number 181087363 was the one who was going to go without the bowling trophy and the cheers. Still, Serial Number 181087363 thought as he watched his friend interlock with the beautiful digital camera that everyone had a crush on, maybe it was worth it to know that their side finally won something.

"Hi," said a shy voice behind him. Serial Number 181087363 turned to see the unassuming mp3 player that everyone had always taken for granted. She fixed her glasses and looked up at him.
