My Beloved Wooden Toy Truck,

I considered telling you that I was just going out for a pack of bubble gum, but leaving like that didn't seem right. I figured after all these years together, I owed it to you to tell you the truth. And that is, I don't like you like you anymore.

You see, I've met someone else. Someone with a front loader that scoops, carries and dumps. Someone that can take me for a ride without me having to do that awkward little Flintstone scoot across the floor on a toy not made for that purpose.

Listen. I respect you enough not to feed you a line like, "It's not you, it's me." Because the fact is, Wooden Toy Truck, it is you. I've outgrown you. I need someone who will make me better, by improving my hand-eye coordination and my ability to judge distances.

So there it is. I guess there's nothing left to say. Except for thank you for being such a good pal. I will forever cherish our time together.
