The modern day blanket as we know it was invented by Sir Beauregard Afghan of Tunisia in the late 6th century B.C. Before this innovative contribution to our life on Earth, humans seeking warmth used to bury themselves under a nest of pine needles, deciduous leaves and those little whirly helicopter things that fall off of maple trees. And I think we can all agree that it was neither a convenient nor adequate form of shelter.
