Time Scout
Just think about how much classic sci-fi did with nothing but cardboard props! Surely your kids can imagine better than "Horns Of The Nimon" did.
Tim was crouched behind the couch. "Are you ready, Explorer Time Scout Number One?"
Olivia nodded.
"Are you ready, Explorer Time Scout Letter A?"
Jake nodded.
Tim reached for the Time Lever he'd made out of a toilet paper tube.
"Time Jump …. initiated!
"Where are we, Explorer Time Scout Commander?" asked Explorer Time Scout Letter A.
"I see a castle!" shouted Explorer Time Scout Number One. "Just behind that cottage!"
"A castle?" Explorer Time Scout Commander leaned on the shuttlecraft and scratched his head. "That isn't right! In this time period, castles didn't exist yet!"
"Look!" shouted Explorer Time Scout Letter A. "An invisible dinosaur!"
"Fire the Stun Beam!" shouted the Explorer Time Scout Commander.
"Dad!" shouted Explorer Time Scout Number One. "Don't stun the dinosaur!"
"It'll eat us!" shouted Explorer Time Scout Letter A.
"It's cruel!" shouted Explorer Time Scout Number One.
"Wait, wait, Explorer Time Scout Number One is right. Why don't we reason with it?"
"That's lame," said Explorer Time Scout Letter A. "Why do we want to talk?"
"Because, Explorer Time Scout Letter A," said the Explorer Time Scout Commander, "the only thing cooler than fighting a dinosaur, is being friends with a dinosaur."
Explorer Time Scout Letter A nodded slowly. "I see why you're the Explorer Time Scout Commander, Explorer Time Scout Commander."
The Explorer Time Scout Commander nodded. "Explorer Time Scout Log: Temporal Period: unknown. My team and I have made friends with the coolest dinosaur on the planet, and will now be working with him to storm the castle. Will we survive? Who can say how long this will take? Not me, because time is a dangerous place and also I can see Mom and Ella pulling into the driveway with the pizzas."
"Until next time!" yelled Explorer Time Scout Letter A as he and Explorer Time Scout Number One made a break for the house, leaving the Crafty Kids Imagination Adventures Playsets behind.
