Just something to keep in mind for people with a Stainless Steel fridge..

moving magnets around scratches.

I have a bunch of scratches from the little magnets in the classic fridge letter magnets.

F'ing Magnets. How do they work?

Crackersonline.com doesn't even offer an 11 piece set, so how did Woot put together a set of that size? Are these overstock magnets or something? I would have bought it if it weren't "short" 8 magnets.

I didn't find the motorized set of 20 at all. I found a hand cranked set of 20 for $24.99 at amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Lakeshore-Learning-Materials-Magnetic-Spinning/dp/B004ZAKMD6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_2

And the motorized set of 11 is only $24.99 at crackers online.com

We have the hand crank ones. Off hand I'd say 2 sets is more "fun" than one set because easier to have more than one kid play with this at once and you can make more complicated things. Frustrating for kids who don't have an "engineer" mind though.

We also have that magnet set of marble run parts (and all the 'extra' pieces)- there was a time our fridge looked like a giant toy with the marble run on there and the gears.

Don't get a set with a motor. Make your kids work for their fun. When they are using a crank, it seems like it would be cool to have a motor, but the motor coolness only lasts for a few minutes. During those few minutes, the kids can only watch the toy. They can set up a new pattern, and watch it. Then they get bored and walk away.

The motorized versions are good for store displays, but not for actually playing.
