Taught all 3 of my kids how to ride using the scoot method. Learning the old way requires balance, steering and pedaling all at once. A lot to do for a child. Took an old bike and removed the pedals. They scooted for a couple of months learning balance and steering. Reattached the pedals and within 5 minutes they were pedaling easily. No brakes..hmmm...use it on a flat area with shoes (not flip flops), and a helmet (unless you want to make my kids more college money because I am an ER doc and stupid pays the bills).
