Just gave it the once over and asked as well. No DC input jack. Batteries only.

The info that we got from Carerra says 6+. We went with the conservative recommendation and said 6+.

it might not have a jack for an adapter, but 6 D batteries in series is ~6VDC so some basic electrical work should let you wire in an adapter. I'd look for one that was at least 1A.

It is possible, but not convenient.

Option 1: buy a Carrera 1:43 terminal track and transformer, and add it to this set. Good luck finding one on its own. I did a few searches and didn't find any. If you have a shop locally that stocks slot car kits, cars accessories, they can help. But, those are few and far between.

Option 2, buy a Carrera Go!! 1:43 set that has an AC transformer, and use that terminal and transformer with this track. But, why not just buy a bigger set to start with? Oh, cost.

This is a good deal if you will be satisfied with a small track, and are OK with D-cells.

If you already have Carrera 1:43 track, and want the TMNT trikes to add to your collection, then this is a GREAT DEAL! They can be found for $15.99 each, and you get some additional track to go with it.
