My kid is long out of diapers, but wanted to pop in here and say these look like really nice diapers for the price. I paid around $18 each for my Bum Genius diapers 4 years ago and would have jumped at $12. The $5 shipping is not a problem if you order enough to actually cloth diaper successfully. You would need around 20-25 to keep clean ones in rotation. These pocket style are great for the squeamish or if you want to cloth diaper but don't want to hassle with trying to fold and pin/clip old style diapers. I would run a load of laundry, then as I watched TV at night I would stuff the inserts in and lay the diapers flat and ready to put on. If I had a stack ready to go in the nursery even my "do the minimum to get by" husband would use them.
I managed to cloth diaper my baby through potty training and only used diposables for traveling and outings (not carrying dirty cloth diapers with me, sorry...just not gonna happen). I am happy to answer questions if anyone needs a little advice, though I probably won't answer until this evening. Really, it is a big up front investment but in the end you save SO MUCH MONEY and landfill space and chemicals over disposables it's really worth it. I also found potty training to be much easier because by that age they begin to noticed that being wet and soggy isn't that great.
To sum up, I'm lazy. If using cloth diapers had been that much more work than just doing regular laundry I would not have done it. At the end I was also able to sell my whole diaper stash for around $300 so I recouped a little cash.
If you know someone who uses cloth diapers, these would be a great little gift of some cool fun colors for them to use.
Also, I would not use them for a small newborn though I know people who have. I used disposables until my daughter was about 4m old and done breast feeding as poop at that age is just, well, not good.
