I wonder if this would work at the bottom of stairs that have railing, on the wide bottom rail. Anybody know?

"Furniture Grade" wood, would probably not last very long out in the elements. Don't think it's meant for outdoor use.

The gate is 30" high. How high is your railing?

Got 2 last time and I'm pleased. It works on the bottom step with a wrought iron railing for the person who asked. My only issue with them is they don't have a built-in way to prop them open for the times when I don't mind the dogs running all over the house. Well worth the price.
