Food. Or they have a toilet issue. Those two things account for about 95% of animals trying to communicate with their owners... or at least that's the way it is with our cats.

Not time for food. As of last night, there was one litter box that has only been used once or twice since the litter was totally replaced.
He has two boxes.

I went to catch him and make him sit in my lap....that ended him sticking around.

Took Rusty out with me to get a haircut.
They allow dogs.
Then took him for a walk in that neighborhood (clocked it with the car after we were done... .9 tenths of a mile. That should be good in a different neighborhood. Lots of different stuff to smell.

That would require bring three people in wheelchairs who are on a low sodium diet.

I grew up with low sodium. My dad was on it from when I was in second grade.

Yeah, getting a 3 wheelchair table would be tough on the weekend

Ver1 and Ver2 had a dance performance tonight and another tomorrow. They were only doing one dance and this group Zumba finale thing that was a total surprise to our kids (they knew they were doing a group dance follow the leader-style, but no clue what or how) and Ver2 freaked out and got scared in the front row on stage and didn't know what to do, so we've listened to the song 5 times tonight and she's comfortable with it, so a few more times tomorrow and she should be fine. Of course now I have Party Rock Anthem firmly in my head. I told her if she keeps moving and smiles she'll be fine.

I'm thinking this show isn't worth it. Our group only performs once and only one of their songs. It's 2.5 hours of sitting in the green room bored out of their minds for 10 mins of dancing! Tomorrow our kids are taking our old game boys and a bag of entertainment. I ended up reading stories off my Google Drive to entertain kids, one girl took a nap!

Oh and I had to sew skirts for the event too. Since you can't find a kids black skirt anywhere in town that comes down near to the knee! Do we have to dress our kids like hookers now? I must have missed that memo. Actually I couldn't find any skirts at all in Ver1's size.

Question: I have a new set of stuff for the bed, including a bed skirt, which is of course horribly wrinkled. It says "dry clean only." Do you think ironing it will work okay?

Ironing isn't one of my areas of expertise. I would set it on low and try in an inconspicuous spot.

Happy day befor St Pats Day! I have corned beef in the crock pot! Going to try to fight the traffic to get to the outdoor concert.

I often find myself thinking the same thing as I pass the girls' section in Target... like "really? you're putting THAT in the girls' section? It might be passable in the misses section, but really? An eight year old should wear that in public?"

...and I don't even have kids.

BTW... good Saturday morning all... how's things?

It would depend on what the bedding is made out of. I could see the comforter/bedspread and maybe pillow shams being dry clean only, but I wouldn't think the sheets or bed skirt would be. Joyner's advice is probably best... pick a low setting and test in a small spot. Or perhaps try steaming it if you can.

Don't steam acetate, and high temps will melt it. I doubt they would have a wool for a ruffle. So I am betting on poly, there are several that will shrink / change shape in the wash (did that once with poly curtains) but you can abuse it to your hearts content with an iron.

I remember dance. They always had the oldest set last, and let people leave backstage as they were done (ie get rid of the toddlers ASAP).

And I think that about clothes in the women's section. Any skirt above the knee will be a mini while sitting.

pooflady

quality posts: 20 Private Messages pooflady

Tried an iron and it just wasn't cutting it, so I took it to the dry cleaners. $7 for that and two pillow shams. But then I changed my mind and told them to clean it, too, and it was $12. I was pretty surprised.

Something odd, the comforter says it can be washed in a commercial washer.

I didn't know if you were supposed to use the stem or not. And I would have picked each leaf off, but they showed me how to get them all off at once. Or for like stew, I could put a whole sprig in and just take it out when it's done.

Parsley's the one I hate to try to chop. Can never get small enough pieces.

This was a new dish, probably won't make again. Noodles, ham, peas, white wine, heavy cream, garlic, shallots. There was supposed to be freshly grated nutmeg in it, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Just didn't sound good.
