Paw-paw. Grandbaby's first words. Love that kid...

My son was Mama. My daughter was BaBa at around 5-6 months old. I have video of her around 6 months old asking "where baba?" over and over again until I handed it to her. She was way early on everything while my son was a watcher. He's conservative and she's dangerous!

My daughter's first word was Hi, and then followed by Dada.

I Don't have a kid, but my nephew's (Cousin's son. Extended family's a bit of a pain.) first word was "Woot"

Not lying there. Granted, the mom and dad were debating if that was a real word or not.

Ha! I love that "No!" was a choice. My daughter's first word, and if am not mistaken, first thought, was NO. Hee! She's gonna drive me nuts, but I'm okay with it.

My kiddos first word was bye-bye, with the hand/arm motion and all!

As an owner/operator of a martial arts school, I am proud to say that my daughter's first word was... "NINJA"

I learned very early on to watch what I say when driving after my (then) infant daughter repeated me...

While "da-da" was not first word, I am pretty sure if one were keeping count, "no" was the first word to pass the 100, 500, and 1,000 usage milestones.

What we consider to be our son's first word (a word that he said in connection with a meaning, not just a noise) was "kitty". He was in his high chair and looked out the window, pointed, and said "kitty!" (without the 't' sound, so it was more like "ki-iy", but we knew what he meant)

That's great! Makes me look forward to hearing my sons first words (although one day I am going to regret saying that!)

That was the first real in context word although she's been making sounds "da-da" "buh-buh" ... that one might consider words for a while.

Our daughter's first word was "hello".

"Uh oh." He was 7 or 8 months old and he would throw things off his high chair then look down at them and say "Uh oh!"
