The manufacturer upped the price. Woot tried another brand monkey, and wooters revolted, so they brought them back for 2 bucks more.

Everyone in my office wants one and I was going to be in for as many as I could get.... but not at $4.00. Sigh I want the $2 monkies back.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. There was another monkey offered earlier today.

I thought the significant thing about these monkeys were that they had the hoods and capes (which signified the original manufacturer, as well). There was another one listed earlier, so I think they have listened to the hordes that have claimed that the monkeys don't belong on regular woot because they are toys. Either way, I don't think this signifies the end of the wootoff.

I believe woot! was getting the monkeys for Nostalgic Images. When Nostalgic Images went to the masked monkey, woot had no choice but to offer the masked monkey. We revolted and complained and threatened to pull out the pitchforks and burn the village(warehouse) and woot! listened. Woot went to the manufacturer of the monkeys and had them brand the monkeys for woot. This costs extra $$ but those of us who are monkey collectors will pay it gladly.

NOTE - these monkeys actually have a woot tag sewed onto it's leg and the paper tag between the hands says woot! not Superfly
