As long as my tax dollars aren't paying for the nonsense...On second thought, I don't like the sound of this so called class. I'm voting with my (son's) feet and taking my son out of school this instant.

I see no issue with this. Kids should know both and sex ed, made to take seriously in a classroom environment may be good for the kiddos. Too many teen pregnancies, too many accidental kid shootings (face it 1 either way is too many) education takes away the "I didn't know excuse".

Just need to add in some rock 'n roll, and I think we'd have a great song title here!

That seems like a very odd combo class. Assuming it's two separate classes, the kids already have sex-ed, and I'm not against gun safety. But obviously, gun safety courses are not going to stop killing spree's.

It's not like one day they would talk about sex ed and the next they talk about guns. They could split the class in half for the school year, one half sex ed and the other gun safety.

You can put one over the barrel of your rifle while wading through water to help keep the inside dry.

Here's the only thing I need to tell my kid:

"In both cases, the tip is the most sensitive part."

I have a lot less problem with kids discussing (with adult guidance) ways to be safe than I have with Woot! constantly selling guns.

Well said. Trying to bury our heads in the sand and pretend the issues don't exist is a disservice to our children.

As a kid we had gun safety but no sex ed. As an adult, I find I use the latter far more than the former.
