"Last Christmas" is as much about Christmas as Bohemian Rhapsody. It would never be on the radio if it was "Last Thanksgiving" or "Last Arbor Day" even though it would not change the meaning of the song.

I refer to it as "sour-grapes Christmas", because it really is just someone being sour-grapes about getting dumped during the holidays.
