Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
Apparently woot! Hasn't heard that we have 25% unemployment. :-/
You missed the "don't know, don't care", I work when I feel like it option.
Full time mommas don' get a day off. Or a sick day. Not bitter. Nope. Not a bit.
2 days for Christmas 2 days for New Years The office closes for the days in between. Those of us who have saved their vacation get paid for those days. And some are even taken the Friday before.
but why is this poll on kidswoot! ?

Because working parents often choose the "free overtime" option. Raising kids is freaking expensive!
I chose the "given time off/office is closed" as code for "I'm unemployed and I gave myself time off."
Permanent vacation...
There is no break for EMTs.
Working right now (it is only Wednesday), but I get a 4 day weekend (22nd-25th) followed by another 4 day weekend (29th-1st). If we don't use our vacation days by the end of the year, we lose them. No carryover or getting paid for them. With so many days off in December already, I always try to use them up before I get to the last month of the year.

Ha. In many places employees with children are given preferential treatment for time off on "family oriented" holidays and the single employees are expected to work.

Really...you went there with this, did you? Sorry you feel discriminated against. Merry Christmas!

You're right. Thank you for being there for those of us who need you!
retired! Always off now!
My standard answer - mom's don't get days or nights off. At least not in my world. But the paycheck is the best - you can't beat hugs and kisses and "I love you Mamma, you're the best!!", ever!!!
