If you're thinking of buying this kit, please be aware that it doesn't contain any of the actual candy-making ingredients. It's just a few molds, little tools, and a thermometer. The instruction book isn't as detailed as it should be, either -- they often forget to tell you how much of each ingredient to use in the recipes.

Basically, while this may look like you can open the box and start making candy, that is not at all the case. You'll need to make a trip to the grocery store and buy quite a bit of stuff before you can even begin to use this kit.

Woot's price is excellent for this kit, compared with its retail price, but in all honesty, I don't even think this kit is worth $5.00, as I think most kids would be quite disappointed in it.

we got this as a gift a while ago and it was disappointing to say the least - you can buy yourself a candy mold and thermometer for cheaper and get instructions online. Making candy is very easy with the craft store ready made kits and mixes. The instructions in this set are sketchy at best and buying all the ingredients will set you back quite a bit.
