I have four Kelty packs now and the workmanship is incredible. Kelty has a lifetime warranty on the packs, and every report of customer service is glowing: whether the problem was manufacturing (rare) or user error, they go above and beyond to work with their customers. Really can't go wrong with Kelty.

4 lbs for a 30 degree bag....

Not much better than an $8 fleece throw that you can double up or zip.

Totally thought it said 'big diaper sleeping bag,' and I was excited about absorbency. Rats.

I can't tell.. Does it fit kids up to 5'4" before adding the extra 12" foot area, or after adding the extra space?

Since the full length is 72" (6'), I'm gonna say the 5'4" height is with the extra 12" expanded.

Remind me not to listen to you when picking a sleeping bag. In fact, nobody else should listen to you either. The material used as fill is what will retain the warmth.

Fill a bag with 4 pounds of newspaper and one with 4 pounds of down. There's a HUGE difference.

There are 0 degree bags out there with less than 2 pounds of fill.

It turns out in the rain if you put it over your head, no one will blame you for it not being an umbrella.

I'm just hanging out, really.
