K'Nex are compatible with LEGOs. I want to say they are the better of compatible LEGO like blocks with MEGABLOKs being second to them.

They still sell the snowflake looking ones too I think, but LEGO-"like" blocks are all the rage or something now.

My thought, exactly. This is a blatant knock off, I don't see knex incorporated anywhere (which might be cool, because then at least you'd get a few pieces that would cross over), and they even have the same boxy mini figures. I don't think I'll buy, partly just on principle.

I was thinking the same thing. We have k'nex at home and love them. They rock in their own right. This is NOT the k'nex we know and love.

My son is a big fan of toys from a building set manufacurer based in Denmark, due to international copyright laws i can't mention their name, but it starts with L, sounds like an egg in the middle, and ends with O.

Anyway, we also have some of the K'nex "Lego style" sets also. Whoops I said it. Compared to Lego, this is what I would say about them-

K'nex are good quality, and fit well with Legos.

The bricks are slightly chamfered, which makes them not look as good on a model but easier to get apart.

The axle type pieces are a different diameter than Lego, so they aren't completely compatible.

They seem to hold up well over time. We haven't had any pieces wear out.

K'nex has some cool plastic spring pieces for suspension in a lot of their models. No idea if any of these do.

That's why they can make similar bricks. They just can't call them Lego. Nor do they have the big licensing deals.

So K'nex makes a faux Lego now..interesting

No real savings. It's the same or cheaper on other sites.

L*** took their blocks idea from Kiddicraft, so when you buy a L*** set you aren't so much buying 'the original' you are buying 'the better marketed and financially supported' brick toy.

Yes, K'nex building bricks are compatible with Lego bricks.
