Seriously though, this year seems to have brought this autumnal color-scheme to the fore. This particular travesty of design sensibility looks like it took it's inspiration from a color blindness test card.

I got the car starter kit from Woot a while back. We've hardly been able to use any of it:

--The mirror: clip doesn't have enough capacity for the fold-down visors in our Honda Fit. Even if we make it kind of pinch enough to stay, the mirror vibrates so much on its long stem that we can't really see the baby anyway, and it has to be removed for the visor to flip up. Our windshield has a glare-reduction pattern at the top of the windshield between the two visors, which prevents the suction cup from sticking. Complete fail.

--The back-of-seat organizer hangs away from the seat so loosely that it takes up most of the legroom in the back seat, both for an adult and for my daughter in her carseat. Even so, she couldn't reach items in it while strapped in her carseat. Might be better on seats on which the back is actually completely vertical (minivan?) or hanging on the back of a door, side of a changing table, etc.

--Commenters on the previous Woot said that the car seat mat was contraindicated for the safety of some car seats, although I don't see why it would make a difference with LATCH connectors and proper installation. I was going to try it next time we had to move the carseat anyway, but then decided to repurpose it as a picnic table mat for camping.

--The window clings do ok in our car. We can roll the windows down and back up without removing them.

--"Little Explorer" sign? Ok, if you like that sort of thing.

My mom got us a shopping cart cover when my daughter was little. I used it exactly once. It was very hard to put on the cart with one hand while holding the baby. I guess I could have parked, left her in the car, gotten a cart from the cart return, taken it back to my car and dressed it and then put her in, but it seems like more work than is worth it. Maybe for other moms too: I've only seen maybe 5 of these things in the wild, so either nobody's heard of them or they're just not that useful.

This is true, that part of this offer that goes under the carseat & then hangs over the seat is not safe & should not be used with any carseats or booster seats.

Putting anything between the carseat & the seat of the car does compromise the security of the carseat in an accident. Things like this or a mat to try to protect the seat of your car from messes, etc are not safe.

Also anything that goes between your child & the carseat are not safe either. Like a Bundle Me or a bunting for the infant carseats in the winter. If it only covers over top of the carseat & does not go under your baby, that's okay but if your child sits on it & it is between your baby & the carseat, then it's not safe.

I did used to use a shopping cart cover. I have a child with extensive health problems & it was either use that or wipe down the whole shopping cart so he didn't pick up germs. While he was still buckled in the carseat, I'd grab a cart, put the cover on & then take my child out of the car & sit him in the shopping cart cover.

I want one of each. Is the starter kit sold out or can you only buy 1?

Agreeing with everyone who's says they are not worth the trouble. We bought one and found not only was it a pain to attach, even with two people doing it, it doesn't fit all shopping carts that well. So unless your child has an immunodeficiency or there's some sort of outbreak going on in your area I'd skip this.
