NERF

Be it office fun or a ferocious living room battle, you can't go wrong with the power of NERF. We've gathered some shooters that will help you defeat your best friend but won't shatter the TV screen when you miss. Because nobody wants to REALLY hurt anyone, right? That's why we use NERF in the first place!

Even though these toys are in the kids section, we had some great discussion last time about office NERF wars and the like. This time, let's talk about NERF in the home. Valid defense strategy for inside needs, or outdoor only activity?

I'm just hanging out, really.

can't go wrong with a few Mavericks around the house for spontaneous stress relief wars with the significant other. (or a random dart to a book/tablet to scare the bejebus out of each other while reading)

may have to stock up on ammo!

Does anyone know if the "tech kit" is compatible with the Vortex Proton? The copy is ambiguously worded, though it seems to say it is (at least the way I'm reading it). However, looking at the picture, I can't figure out where it would attach.

Compatible with a VORTEX, a PRAXIS or a NITRON blaster (each sold separately)

I believe this is a typo. the line of guns is called Vortex. I would say no to the Proton

No the tech kit is a magazine style ammunition holder designed for the praxis or nitron blaster, as previously stated.

While the Proton and Vigilon have to be loaded manually, I'd say the tech kit is still the easiest way to carry ten more discs.

In addition to the Praxis and Nitron, the Lumitron and new Pyragon accept magazines. (Thrilled they finally stopped calling them clips.)

While I always look forward to good NERF event, clicking through to the NERF website reveals that the woot prices are basically NERF's (new?) MSRP. Color me disappointed that I can find the same deals (or better) on Amazon...

$5 all day shipping for anything on any Woot retail site.

$5 All You Can Ship

For a limited time, one $5 charge covers standard shipping on all your Woot orders within the same calendar day!

You heard us right. After you pay the initial $5 standard shipping charge on your first Woot order of the day, everything else you buy before midnight Central time gets free standard shipping.

That goes for any order, of any size, from any site in the Wootosphere. Buy from Woot, then grab a new tee at Shirt.Woot. Shop for the kids at Kids.Woot and yourself at Home.Woot. One $5 charge ships it all.

But All You Can Ship won't last long. We're not in the habit of leaving money on the table, so grab it while you can!

This is true. Most of these NERF products can be had for the same prices or cheaper at Amazon, ...or at your nearby Target.

Agreed,

It would be cool if the sold the mod kits along with the guns though.

Didja know NERF stands for Non-Expanding Recreational Foam? Might come in handy next time you're in the Cash Cab.

The Maverick REV-6 is a fun little gun. My son picked one out at Toys R Us with his birthday cash just yesterday because Woot! sold out of them too fast. It's the best way to feel like a wild west sheriff, since you pump the gun with your off hand and fire with your dominant.

It's also very powerful and does a neat job of making it hard to suction dart your eyeballs by only locking into firing position as the trigger is pulled, so looking inside while loading or just checking it out isn't going to result in a tragic misfire.
