Ok, I'll start. If you end up going to a lot of baby showers, small things like this are great to hang on the bow for a unique decoration. I've made bows out of infant socks and arranged toys around them. They get a unique package and even the bow is useful.

These are cute toys and, basically, not bad price per toy.

All joking aside (the write-up was hilarious but pitiful because people are really like that!!!), these toys DO work on a lot of developmental levels. Reaching, grasping, holding, bringing toys "to midline", bringing toys to the mouth, familiarizing oneself with different textures, even throwing toys when finished playing with them are developmental stages that must be mastered.

For what it's worth, other Chicco products are listed as well:

http://www.healthystuff.org/get-stuff.php?q=chicco

but the other 4 products on sale don't have test results.
To be fair, Fisher-Price, Melissa & Doug, and other companies are listed as well with multiple products of concern (and not just toy companies). Not every product listed has a problem.

This topic came up last woot:

The response then:

The Rainbow Sphere contains BPA (I couldn't figure out how to find out how much though) but none of the other products were listed.
Given it's a recent and fairly extensive list I'd think the rest of the toys would be safe.

Thanks Maine Department of Environmental Protection!

My only caveat is I'm thinking the opposite. If they don't list it, it more likely means it wasn't tested, not that it was necessarily safe.

The bundle is $9.99 for either, same price as before in June, and in July wootoff. If you want to try to contact Chicco (and apparently is a big seller in Europe), you can hope for a response from the U.S. division:
http://www.chicco.com/Contattaci/RichContattoEng/tabid/1528/language/en-US/Default.aspx

The toys are in the newborn toys section:
http://www.chiccousa.com/toys/newborn.aspx
Their "about us" section:
http://www.chiccousa.com/about-Chicco.aspx

By the way, I'm not saying don't buy these, but I want to throw out the info to think about.

I found all of the Jill bundle on Chicco USA website, even the Rainbow Sphere. 3 under newborn, 2 under infant. I don't think there is an issue with the sphere, at least not anymore. Chicco probably would not have it on there site if their was imo

Ok I know I am a bit strange but I was going to buy these for my gold/blue macaw but now I am afraid they may not be a good idea? This bird would bite into them before she destroys them so I better pass on them. Thanks for taking the time to report. What is BPA?

Is BPA an issue if the toys aren't being heated? I thought BPA leached out of bottles and containers when they were heated in a dishwasher.

Correct! It's only an issue if the item is being heated, the temperature in an infant's mouth is not anywhere close to high enough to cause the BPA to leech out. I understand the concern but a lot of the fear was created by the media. So, if you don't put these toys in the microwave or dishwasher you don't have anything to worry about.

(BPA is bisphenol A, commonly used in the polymerization of polycarbonate).

I read the article that everyone is posting and In the important note it states that earlier or later versions of the same products may contain different chemical formulations. I wish that they would list the dates they were manufactured.
