Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

About the only thing my little guy has been scared of so far is a 3D popup goosefish in his Smithsonian sea creatures book:

But that only lasted a day or two and now he pets it and says "hello goosefish" when we get to that page.

Sleep. He wakes himself up ALL the time and avoids naps like they're evil.

Kids, for the most part, are afraid of what adults tell them to be afraid of. (Or through their own actions, show them to be afraid of, for all the literalists out there.)

5yo is afraid of thunder, 7yo is afraid of windchimes (or so he claims). Neither is very consistent in what scares them though, so this may already be outdated.

The 14yo is afraid of responsibility...

My kids are scared of growing up and leaving home. Since they are 7, 5, and 2 I don't get why this conversation comes up so often, maybe because we live in a university town. I know they'll outgrow this within the next 10 years.

My 3.5 year old is terrified of air hand driers and "noisy flushies" in public restrooms. It has made potty training that much more complicated and frustrating.

Not scared of too much else, but "noisy flushies" sends her into a complete meltdown.

Well, my child is now 18 & isn't afraid of anything anymore...but, when he was a kid (around 5) we were standing on the front porch watching the lightening as a storm rolled in. All of the sudden the tree across the street was struck. It blew the bark off (some came across the street into our yard) & caught fire. He took off in the house & for about 8 years after that, storms scared him. We moved to Florida so he kinda had to get over it.

10 quality post! Whoo hoo! I'M SOMEBODY!!!
