Seriously? How many of these things did you guys get stuck with? It seems like every time I turn around, you're selling a 142-piece artist kit. Sigh.

I wouldnt expect this to hold together, or even for all the pieces to stay in their spots, but for the price, can you really go wrong? Maybe the paints are radioactive or something, but, probably not.

My kids got this for the holidays. WARNING: craypas and crayons melt, badly, in a car in this summer heat. Oops.
Luckily, the case contained all the goo, and it didn't leak out.

I didn't even know they still made these, I had one when I was maybe 8, great times.

Used to work for an art supply store, and lemmie tell ya, these things are awesome. Kids adore them, and with so much to choose from, they're going to be spending a lot of time making art.

Down sides: Quality is somewhat 'meh', the crayons and pastels will melt if left in a car, and the markers dry out if you let them. So, typical for kid's art supplies.

I got one the last time around. It does make for an awesome gift presentation. My daughter's eyes were huge at the idea if all her own stuff. However, the crayons included are those crappy super waxy kind that don't color well. Although it looks as if there are a bunch of colors, it is the same bunch twice. The case is fine. I replaced her crayons, pencils and watercolors with crayola ones that were on sale and voila, we have a supercool art kit that actually works. We didn't replace the markers because we couldn't find decent ones that fit. So, good presentation, crappy afterwards. But, makes an impressive gift.

I feel bad for the ppl that got stuck buying this at 12-15 bucks during the wootoff....

I'd love to buy one, but my twins are 2 years old. Keeping colors on the paper is still challenging for them. If they were washable markers and crayons, I'd be in for one, as my daughters love to color, especially with markers. While this looks cool, it also looks like a big potential mess to clean up.

And I'm waiting all month for the art set in the wooden case. I'm so mad that I missed it in the woot-off. My kids have one (ages 3 and 8) and they love it. They showed it off to my 12 year old stepson, and he said he wishes he could get one too.

And this is why you always go in for three. Art set for two kids? Get three! Sweet deal on a TV? Get three! Thinking about a Roomba for a tiny apartment? Get three! Woot will thank you for it. ;)

I stand corrected. Lesson learned. (Although I'm still trying to find place for all my woot band-aids...)

I had one of these when I was a kid and I have to say I both loved it and hated it. It was awesome because the kit I had included oil pastels, which are 1000x more awesome than crayons, markers, or color pencils. The only problem with kits like these is that kids don't USE all of it... it's more like just a convenient storage box for adults. Plus, the markers run out too quickly for my taste.

I got this art set for my daughter and was shocked when I received it. I had priced simular sets at the art stores and they were twice or at some three times the price for a set like this! Great value for the quantity of tools that are in it.
