As Always, before you purists start complaining the R/C stands for Remote Control not Radio Control. These use Infrared and don't work well in direct sunlight. This is an indoor toy that's super easy to navigate.

No Complaining!

This toy is very fun to fly around indoors. However, the battery life is only about ~10 minutes and after a month or two of normal use the battery becomes less and less effective. I bought one in January and by April is was a paperweight.

I got one of these in a Bundle of Crops a couple of months ago. Very easy to fly and doesn't seem to mind the occasional crash landing.

Thats Why They are advertised as Infrared Multi-Channel "INDOOR" Helicopter

this is the normal price these syma helicopters go for on amazon, free shipping if you have prime.

These helicopters are pretty awesome, they are a lot of fun to play with. Best part is replacement parts are only a few dollars so if you break something you don't need to buy a whole new one. This includes the battery.

-sigh- Yes I know this. You obviously haven't seen these on kids.woot before. One of the first comments are always "IT SAYS I/R AND R/C YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS" when this thing goes up for sale.

If you tried one of the older indoor helicopters but found it hard to control, you should know that the difference the gyro makes is like night and day. It's very easy to control. Just remember they're very light so even a slight breeze (like the AC coming on) will push it around the room.

You'll want to have more than one of these and also spare blades, etc. The battery doesn't last long so having multiples mean you can keep rotating one on charge and one in the air. It's worth it though.... they are a blast!

Here's another classic comment from me:

Terrorizing dogs you say?

Here are a few links from the past:

Here it was in september 2011 when I bought 3

Here it was in May

And- here is what I had to say in may:

javamatte wrote:I've got one of these and they are simply awesome. Tough, easy to control and decent battery life.

Plus, you can buy full sets of replacement parts on some gigantic retail site named after a river in the southern hemisphere.

I'm in for 3 more for the office

I'll back this statement up. I can't guarantee your results will be the same but I must have crashed my first one 200 times before she died. And I didn't even have to retire it because of broken propellers/stabilizer wings. I actually burned out the motor, and that only happened because I was too lazy to pick up the helicopter and sit it back up correctly. Just tried to fly it out from behind the desk it fell. Dumb Idea. At least I still have 2 more that fly fine.

like everyone says these things are extremely durable, my daughter crashed hers many times and never had any damage. However these copters don't hold up to a good chewing from a dog especially a young border collie pup

Battery Life on this is horrible; less than 10 minutes. Makes the helicopter pretty useless.

Amazon lists the product at $45.94 and has a few average reviews. For this woot price I'll buy two.

As mentioned in another post, there are comparable prices on Amazon too. This one is all over the price map.

Once again I must answer the call of responsibility to steer consumers away from IR controlled RC products and boring coax helis. Spend 30 bucks more and get either a V911 or V929\939. Your inner child or real child will enjoy it much more and be able to use it outside:

This is the perfect toy for work. 40 minutes of USB charging gets you 5 minutes of play time. Plus, the FUJI batteries are perfect in the controller, as long as you don't charge the helicopter from the controller.

ok, so which one is better, phantom s107 here or syma s107G on daddy woot (amazon)? Both are same price.

So, if I spend over double, I can get a better helicopter from a (possibly)shady company based in China??

Banggood is reputable and an RC Groups supporting vendor. Research before you spew crap.

I researched for some time (couPle hours) debating if it is, it seems legit , also they accept PayPal. The only thing to consider is their deleivery time, could take 2-3 weeks. I ordered one, can't resist, but I ordered s107 2, just in case my nephew gets 2 curious and wants to play with my v911. If something does go bad, we can always take our frustration out at Massive overkill. Also, no need to get angry massive, for 1st time buyers at a company in china with a funny name, I was and am skeptical 2 until I get my order!

I think people understand that if they spend over double for something, they can get something better.

This is only $23. If people like it, then maybe they will upgrade to something better in the future. If not, they are only out $23.

I just got my chopper today, and it's pretty sweet.

BUT.....is anybody having issues with their charging cable? It's supposed to show a red light when charging, and then green when fully charged?? Mine shows a red light when I plug the USB into my PC, and then the red light goes off when I plug the chopper in. I don't know if I charged it the first time, or if it came with a charge.....but I flew it for about 5 mins straight. I never saw any green light.

O.K., a little searching confirmed my experience. The charging is working correctly, but not like the Chinglish instructions state.

I get a red LED when I plug the USB into my PC. The LED goes out when I plug the chopper in. Then the LED comes back on when the battery is fully charged.

This heli has been pretty sweet so far!

Anyone know what the return process is for items like this? My unit came in and it will not work. I plug it in, red light goes on and the copter looks like it is working when you turn on the switch (LEDs turn on and everything). However, the rotor never turns and I've tried all three channels. I've other RC units so I'm not a novice at RC devices.

I also have another issue with my heli. Does anyone else experience like little blips of interference when flying, where the heli does whatever it wants for a second or a split second? It kinda sucks when the throttle gets stuck for a second, and sends the thing into the ceiling. Or you can't really fly near someone, cause it might turn real hard and smash into their face. I'm not flying by windows with sunlight or anything either.

My 3 year old niece wanted to help me by picking the heli up after it went down, and I had to keep telling her not to touch it, cause it occasionally has throttle blips when I'm not even touching the remote.

Is mine defective?
