It appears that these store wet items, and are not used to keep items dry. At first glace it appeared to be a water proof bag.

We have one of these, have been looking to get another couple because it's so darn useful. Really like it for wet swimsuit storage, was almost sad that I had to give it over to the diaper bag after baby arrived. And it's useful now for diapers/clothes covered on baby spew. Keeps everything else in the bag from getting horribly dirty/smelly.

If you put items in dry, they will stay dry. Go for different designs if you want to avoid wet/dry mix-ups between swimming and gymnastics. In for 3.

They are great to keep handy in the car in case of accidents. If you cloth diaper, they're a must. If not, they are great for wet clothes. I don't cloth diaper any more, but I keep one on hand. Accidents happen. My old dryer tore up the lining of my old one, so I would advise paying attention to washing/drying instructions (I just line dry mine inside).

Can you use it for food? Is it food-grade polymers inside?

I couldn't find these specific designs on The Itzy Ritzy website but they seem to be selling these for about 18 bucks direct from the source.

Yes, according to the Itzy Ritzy website.

If you're cloth diapering your kid(s), you'll want at least 2 of these.

I honestly cannot think of one instance where I would use one of these. When driving home from the beach, we lay our wet swimsuits on a towel in the trunk (or even roll them up). It seems like stuffing a bunch of wet stuff in a bag and zipping it up would cause stuff to get mildewy and stink. I can kind of see the diaper thing, but isn't it easier to just wrap it good in a plastic bag, then throw the bag away later, instead of having to wash out a poopy cloth bag? I feel as though I am completely missing the point of these.

I usually bring home dirty clothes home from a trip in a large plastic bag. This would be a lot nicer. I am in for one.

This bag would be nice to pack cosmetics for a trip.

We have had two of these for the past two years and they are AMAZING! With cloth diapering they are an absolute must, but have also come in handy to keep wet clothes from making everything else wet in the diaper bag. In for 4 at this great price. One more to add to our collection ad three to keep on hand for gifts.. = )

Any idea if it will contain liquids from a leaking or broken bottle?
I'm wondering if it might be better than the ziplock for my travel flask in my luggage.
The ziplocks i use for 'insurance' get small holes in the bag pretty easily, this should be sturdier, but is it water-tight?
Seems like the zipper would simply strain out the chunks!
Anyone know?

Nope, it's not watertight. Spilled liquids would seep out from the zipper portion. Wet bags work great for containing wet fabrics (we've used our wet bags for cloth diapers, wet clothes, swimsuits, and towels), but pure liquid wouldn't be contained very long.

Fabric won't get moldy unless you forget it in the bag for a while. I've cloth diapered for three kids, and only once had a problem. I misplaced one of our wetbags for four days with a dirty diaper in it. Truthfully, I threw the bag and diaper away once I discovered the error! Washing a wet bag is not a big deal. For dirty diapers, I just unzipped the wet bag, shook the (cloth) diaper into the washing machine or diaper pail, and threw the wetbag in with it. It's not like you have to stick your hand inside and root around. ;)

As for using a plastic bag, there are a couple reasons why we prefer wetbags. First is a general desire to throw away less plastic. Sacks are fine for the occasional potty accident, but you would throw away quite a few of them if you used them to put everyday dirty diapers in. Secondly, for wet clothes, the bags far outperform rolling suits up in a towel. I have a large wetbag where we stuff all our towels and suits after swimming. I can put it all back in the pool bag without worrying about anything else getting wet. It also does a very good job containing smells, so I could see how one might want to use it for gym clothes or shoes.

We got ours when my oldest was in diapers, and we still use it today. I thought it was a great investment, but it may not be for everyone.

Wrap your travel flask in a diaper before you put it in the ziplock bag. Any leaks are absorbed and contained quickly and the diaper also prevents sharp edges from creating holes in your ziplock bag :-) This is a great trick for traveling with wine or other glass bottles.

So I saw these bags a long time back, and thought that I could sew them for cheaper... seemed easy enough. I have to say... buy these! It's a lot cheaper than the materials are to the general consumer. I highly recommend them for all your wet-protection needs.

Woo hoo! Was actually going to order some of these from eBay today, but these are much cheaper! A must for cloth diapering! I have two and it seems like I'm always in need of another so I'm in for 3!!

No babies here, but, wow, we go to the pool 3 times a week, and each of the kiddos has a bag and just tosses the wet swimsuit into the bag on top of flip flops, hair ties, goggles, combs, spare clothes, etc. This seems like the perfect solution!

I was thinking these would be good for keeping in car for wet/dirty shoes/cleats so sand or dirt don't get all over. I'm hoping to save myself the vacuuming and trying to get sand out of the rest of clothes in the gym bag. I tried plastic bags but it never fails the cleats rip the bags. As well, I've been trying to use less plastic.

Here's my timely example...
My son is currently attending summer camp so he has a wet bathing suit & towel when he gets out of the pool every day. Being a resident of the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts and attending the requisite corresponding earth-loving hippie camp, they specifically forbid "disposable" items, like a plastic bag you're going to throw out everyday. Being an earth-loving hippie freak myself I don't mind (I even pack his sandwich in one of those reusable wrap mats but that's another story)
I'm considering jumping on this deal. With SmartPost I should just about have these by the time camp is over...

I read your response to the question frosty asked without reading his question in completion. When I read about this earlier I thought of it as a great diaper bag.
Fast forward to this morning. I read the part about 'straining out the chunks' and nearly spat out my coffee.

Bottom line, they are washable and 100% reusable. I bought mine when I started cloth diapering and after using them I realized just how useful they were. I still use them now even after both kids are potty trained to hold wet stuff from accidents, food messes, beach/pool outings, etc... They're awesome and I recommend them for anyone with small kids whether they cloth diaper or not.

I have something similar that I bought at BJs at about half this price since it seemed like a decent idea and was so cheap it was worth the risk of using her infrequently. They are hideously ugly and significantly smaller than these. And I love them! These would be so much better especially due to the larger size.

I have no babies, but have the gym/swim use. I recently went on a beach vacation and used mine to put away my still damp suit in my luggage on the way home (suit seemed to fair better than in a grocery bag). I wish I had these larger ones to put my wet, sandy sneakers in ... Had to make do for that and suffered a little sand in the suitcase. Definitely in for a couple for future trips, the gym bag and my triathlon transition bag. These will be great to throw my gross race clothes in!

forever fighting the urge to buy something just because it is cheap and cool...wait, it's cheap and cool, let me click that big yellow button!

these seem like a major waste of money. you can buy quite a few boxes of gallon zip lock baggies for the price of one of these wet bags. do you really want to reuse a bag once you've used it to transport a diaper that was on the receiving end of a "junior just started solid foods" blowout???

i have three young boys, each spaced two years apart. we've constantly had at least one a kid in diapers or potty training for nearly 7 years straight. so i consider myself fairly well versed in this crap.

I have cloth diapered 2 of my kids and yes, you wash and reuse the wet bags just like you wash and reuse the diapers. It's not bad at all and great for the environment.

Different use idea, but...
(TMI alert for those who don't want to read about my girly cycle)

I have one that I use to keep a change of underwear and a cloth pad and/or cup in so that if I leak I can put the clean on and put the leaked on in the wetbag. Keeps things clean and from smelling terrible. I always have it in my purse so I don't have to worry about a) not having a plastic bag since I don't carry them around, b) someone for whatever reason going into my purse and seeing a ziplock bag with underwear and a cloth pad and a cup in it, and c) just wash with its contents and use again. Easy peasy.

In for 1 for me, 2 for friends. This is a dang good price.

Awesome price. If I did not already have several I would be in for 3. Great for cloth diapering, and yes it contains the smell. I have even left one in the car by mistake for a few hours just like in the write up and my car did not smell at all.
