Here the older houses have floor furnaces, basically a burner in a hole in the floor with a grate over it. He was trying to plug the ipod into the charger which was plugged in beside the grate and he dropped it. Fortunately it didn't make it all the way to the bottom or I would have had to crawl under the house to get it.

Wouldn't you have to take the duct work apart if it fell all the way down?

Odd thing that happened on doggie walk.

Little girl saw Rusty and was happy to see a dog. She smiled and pointed at him.
She was at least 50 feet away.

Her mom came out of the house and totally freaked out when she saw Rusty.
Totally
Ran to the child and almost was crying, she was that scared. Was running with the child to get away.
I crossed with Rusty and she thanked me.

WtheF????

If she spoke English better, I would have given her the "don't make your child fear something she will see every day" speech.
Plus, the" if you are afraid, just stay still and ignore the animal" speech.

I think she was from India.
This is not the first person to totally freak out seeing a dog, on a leash, not pulling, or barking or doing anything odd.
They have all been Indian. Or maybe Pakistani.
They always do something totally stupid that would make a dog interested in then, like run, or make odd noises. First time it happened, the guy screamed.
This woman was almost crying in fear.

Once again. Rusty was on the leash.
We were at least one full property away.
Rusty was just walking.

Too bad, the kid's going to grow up the same way.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Most likely.

But the kid had no fear yet. So if she has american friends with dogs, she will get one as an adult.
I wonder what the mom will do then???

Evening folks. Went out to see niece & NIL's new house now that they're moved in. Really nice and she's doing a great job decorating.

My friends adopted a little girl from Ethiopia. She is around 4 years old. At the orphanage they told the kids to do things or "the dog would get them." My friend was grateful for the help the first couple days, until she learned that woosha means dog and my friend had an over-friendly, under-trained black lab. Said lab now lives with a relative until the little blind dark girl and the over-excited woosha can learn to coexist. They tried having them both at the house, but my friend felt horrible forcing the dog to live outside away from everyone and not getting walks until late at night.

Anyway, point of long rambling story - some places have weird stories about dogs.

There is no duct work. It's just a gas heater in the floor. No fan/motor so no ducts.

Good morning all.

Good morning everybody! The weather is fabulous. The sun is out and the humidity is gone.

AZ does the Army get a birthday cake like the Marines? I always wondered why they had a party and the other services didn't.

Army installations and Dept of the Army organizations usually do.

All the services celebrate their birthdays in some fashion or another. The Marines are just lot more OOO-RAHHHH about theirs!!
