Poll: Summer school is:
  • 6.7% - Unfair! How can a kid be expected to learn on a warm August day? 27
  • 26.2% - Shameful. Apply yourself, you hoodlum. 106
  • 48.5% - Helpful in some cases. Not everybody learns at the same rate. 196
  • 4% - A waste of my tax dollars. I could be using that money to buy another copy of The Fountainhead. 16
  • 14.6% - Awesome. It saves me having to get a babysitter for three months. 59

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

How about "Terrific: my kids can get out of High School a year early, and with college credits in high school, they can finish college by 21 and start supporting their parents!"

Our kids could take extra courses that they couldn't take during the school year. Now, however, summer school is only available here to take remedial courses or retake failed courses. Our (lack of) tax dollars at work.

Similarly, how about "Now that we're not all farmers who need our kids to help with the harvest, we get rid of this arbitrary break and actually educate our kids year round?"
