This would be great as a part of my new breakfast machine I'm building...

I purchased another model of this line. Awful. Poorly made, doesn't work well. My young grandson reached the same conclusions and abandoned his attempts to play with it within minutes.

Is Woot! digging around in my basement? I remember these from 20 or so years ago. They were plenty fun, but be prepared to go find more dominoes. If your kiddos are inventive, this kit will cut it for a little while, but they'll want more...

In fact, just save yourself the trouble and be in for 3!

Edit: it appears the new generation of these don't compare to the ones of yesteryear. Unfortunate.

What's an express domino?

I got one of these sets last year. My brother was so excited to show his son (my nephew) the joy of Domino Rally. And then we opened the box...
All the dominoes are small, not molded/cut right so they don't all stand up properly and embarrassingly bad quality altogether.
Definitely not the awesome glow in the dark sets we used to get at KB toys :/

Perfect gift for the aspiring young engineer! In fact, I know an old engineer who would enjoy building with these things! And two kits are always better than one!

Cheap plastic, doesn't stand up easily. Not close to the quality Domino Rally sets from 20 years ago or so.

I'm glad someone else remembers those with me.... Too bad they're not as good, because the old ones really were pretty decent.

I'm looking at the product image and noticing all the places they didn't set it up properly and the chain would stop

When I was younger, I combined the Domino Rally set with the Mouse Trap board game to build what we called the 'Super Trap'. It's a shame that this item isn't up to the Domino Rally standard because I would have loved to pass this tradition on to my kiddos.

I wonder how long it took WOOT employees to get these setup just to take the picture?

I bought a similar set of these from this company when it was on kids.woot! a while back. It arrived in time for Xmas which made me happy. The fact that the dominoes were cheap, hollow, malformed pieces of plastic made me unhappy. While my son was putting it together the key domino, of which there was only one of that type in the package, broke due to its extreme cheapness. I contacted the company about purchasing (yes, I didn't even ask them to replace it) a new one and have not heard one word from them. Extremely shoddy dominoes and horrible customer service. But at least it looks like it could be fun.

Maybe the sets of 20 years ago were of higher quality but the one I had almost 30 years ago looked pretty similar to the ones here. Cheap, light, hollowed out plastic dominoes that would fall over whenever the dog from the other side of the room broke wind. On the off chance the air conditioning or canine flatulence didn't topple them over, the dominoes were so light rarely could you get more than a couple of them to fall in succession. I spent the first week I had the set trying to get more than a few free dominoes to chain, never succeeded, gave up and played with the set once or twice after that and had the same problems. The only thing worth a flip were the strips of dominoes that were attached to the bases and those were only good until the dowels on the dominoes or the rings on the bases broke off after a few uses. I was about 8, so maybe someone older would have had a better experience but I know it was one of the most disappointing gifts I ever got. Probably didn't help that a week or two before I got the set, my Dad and I watched a "That's Incredible" about a couple of teams from different countries trying to break the world record.

Domino videos just aren't the same without screaming Japanese commentators calling the action.

BTW, I think this was the competition that idontkn1 was referring to that was featured in "That's Incredible". We miss you, John Davidson.

30+ years ago I always (and only) used REAL dominoes for my intricate building escapades!

And, I will only purchase the same...as long as I am able to find them.

Tough built, true dominoes were tons of fun and hours of entertainment...this set looks pathetic and awful!

NO WAY!

Just bought one for my nephew. I'm new to this -- does it usually ship in 5 days like it says? His birthday is March 39

I bought one of these for my son this Christmas. After using it once, we determined it's a piece of junk - $20 we won't be getting back. DONT BUY THIS. It's really cheap, the dominoes tip too easily. Also, the dominoes are not really dominoes at all - they are 1 inch tall flimsy pieces of garbage.

IIRC, when I was a kid this was called "Domino Rally." And it was the only toy we had. Uphill, both ways, in the snow.

March 39? You must be from a planet with a longer year than earth. I'm afraid woot only delivers to the US.

Still single, can't imagine why.

Scored this domino set on Woot last year for our son's birthday gift. It looked so cool! We were all really excited to play with it- and then we opened the box. Turns out this set was junk. Poorly-made with absolutely no quality control. 2 cheap plastic cars that were supposed to lock in place until released by a lever hit by the last domino. 2 bad one lever wouldn't lock on the car at all and the other one held the car but the "force" from the falling "dominoes" impact was not enough to activate the other lever.
The majority of the dominoes were set on a track piece together to make for easier clean up i suppose. The 7 or 8 dominoes that were supposed to stand alone on a descending staircase were too small and lightweight to stand on their own. Needless to say we never even got the set to work one time. It went back in the box and into the "free" bin at my next garage sale.

I'm fairly certain that as I was placing these, my 19 month old, my 6 month old, my 3 cats, or my dog, would come by and wreck the whole thing.

couldnt help but laugh at the visual in my head of a dog walking by and farting on dominoes.

With all the complaints about this set, I'm questioning how they even got them set up to take the picture? Glue?

I was so close to buying. Glad I read the comments first. I just remembered 20 years ago having much smaller dominos with a ton of templates you could use and combine to make one long run. This is not that, unfortunately.

Looping Infernal? what is that? Is it supposed to be Looping Inferno and these were mistake boxes? Is that why they are so cheap?

Really wanted this when I was a kid and couldn't afford it then. Bought it the last time it was on here and was VERY HAPPY that I didn't buy it in my younger days. My childhood would have been ruined! Cheap poo set!

They still make these? I remember getting a set as a kid, 20+ years ago. Or maybe just seeing the commercials, or playing with a friend. But they've been around a long time.

It looks as if (by the videos above) someone who spends the time to put the domino pieces close enough together it works fine. If not shoddy work leads to shoddy play.

tuxinajar

The domino pieces in the pic are too far spaced out. The chain reaction is going to fail. I suspect the over spacing is to make it look like you have more pieces and it is much smaller than portrayed. I could probably buy 14 sets of real dominos at the dollar store and have a better setup. So I'm out.

I am always thankful for reviews that point out lack of playability. I easily would have otherwise been in for two. Thanks, all--I appreciate the time you take in warning those of us who don't always check reviews elsewhere first.

It's also because they kept falling down on the people setting it up...and when the pieces fell down they didn't want them to hit and knock down any of the others pieces that they miraculously got to stay up! LOL
