Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Where is the box marked "No, but we are taking them to the Christmas Eve service and our church has decided not to have services on Christmas Day"? That is the box I checked.

I love the bottom choice of Chinese and a movie... we didn't have much to do on Christmas day after the dysfunctional family stuff was offer... we seemed to be the only Gentiles in the movies and Chinese food...
Enjoy whatever you celebrate!

I love the simplicity and economy of words in the option, "No way. The end." Point made.

I chose No way, the end. However, our family is more complicated than that. My husband and I aren't Christian but have allowed our children to choose their own religious paths. The oldest ones (27 and 21) don't really give much thought to religion at all - kind of like us. However, the 15 year old has chosen Mormonism as of this year (we live in Utah) and the youngest is 2 and not old enough to care about any of it yet. We support his choice, but it's definitely a point of contention in this house. So, while the rest of us will be enjoying the cozy warmth of the house, the 15 year old has decided he will attend church. Our only rule for Christmas day is that he can attend church ONLY if we are, without rushing, finished with morning routine as a family (coffee, presents, breakfast, etc..). Then he may attend the one hour session they have that day.

No. My family attends services Christmas Eve. The routine is pretty much, go to church, come home, open one present, drink cocoa or spiced cider while watching Christmas Mass live from Rome then go to bed. Once in bed, there's the challenge of staying awake long enough for the kids to fall asleep so that "Santa" and elf can get to work hauling gifts out of hiding and dealing with the dreaded "Assembly Required".

I wonder what the point of going to church one or two days a year is? Seriously????

I will be going to church like I do every week. My toddler loves it!

I know a lot of people will just snarl at my post, but I don't care.

There's just too much evidence that Jesus Christ existed and that he did come to save us from our sins. If you doubt me, please read Lee Strobel's "Case for Christ". It's about a journalist who isn't a Christian who determines if Jesus is or isn't who Christians think he is. Excellent read... especially for those who are a little nerdy. :p

Anyway, Jesus has done way too much for me in my life. I will joyously celebrate the day of his birth with the rest of my brothers and sisters in Christ!

We go to church every Sunday. We only go to church on Christmas when it falls on Sunday. So this year...Yes.

Kinda. We go to church every Sunday, so normally we would if Christmas fell on a Sunday.

However, we have to deal with the visitation schedule with my kids' father (plus visiting both of my parents). So we'll go to my mom's church for the Christmas eve service and call it good.

We will go on New Year's Day, though. So we might get points for that.
