Here is the reply from my poet friend:

"When I published my poetry, I went through Publish America. It was decently quick and painless and the best price - it was free! The only catch is that you have to really put out the effort to promote your book yourself.
Hope that helps "

So there you go. I knew she had told me once, but I was (and still am) a long way from publishing anything myself. I have another friend who has published her fiction work through Amazon and then went the old fashioned route with her kids plant ID book.

Thanks for the info. I have over 100 poems I have written over a 44 year time frame. Some friends have told me I should publish them.

On a different note I will be out of touch probably until the 13th. Soooo...

My first RAM upgrade happened in 1983. I bought the 16k upgrade module for the Timex/Sinclair 1000 computer. The regular 2k memory just wasn't enough.

My old laptop is in pieces because it died in August. I have an all in one touch screen that I was using in the interim. It's supposed to be the "everybody" computer. I was using it for gaming though, too.

My husband posted on FB that he wanted to host gaming so instead of a quiet lazy Saturday where no-one gets dressed we are having another family over for games.... It's ok, but my inner introvert is feeling betrayed.

Oh it wasn't his fault entirely. He posted we should have a game night sometime and my extremely extrovert friend immediately messaged and said how about we all come over at 4 after naps. So they did. It went fine, I just always panic before social engagements.

I used to be very social, but then I developed anxiety attacks. Medication helps now, but I'm still wary of crowds.

There is a blogger I follow online that just shared her story about the same thing!

When I was in hospital a few years ago they kept asking me if I had anxiety (seriously every time a nurse came in or a doctor). I was fine, but since then some things have been much harder. I hope it doesn't get worse.

Thankfully, all my anxiety is in the lead up, once the event is happening I'm usually fine.

If the anxiety hampers your everyday living, then it's time to seek help. It sounds like you're able to handle it. Good!
