Ella knelt by the side of the bed, and pointed at Jake's Star Wars Lightsaber Flashlights. Then, she pointed at herself. Then she pointed at Jake's back. Then she smiled.
Not five minutes later, Jake was giving his sister a piggy-back ride around the back yard. Also known as "training."
At the tree in the very back, Jake let Ella side off. He turned on his Star Wars Lightsaber Flashlight and stepped into the darkness. The hum was reassuring, and so was the glow from the 3 AAA batteries.
What wasn't reassuring was the big spider hanging right in front of his face. It wasn't so much scary as startling, but that was enough for Jake.
"Okay, bye, evil nemesis! You lose! See ya!" Jake hurried back into the sunlight, turned off his Star Wars Lightsaber Flashlight, and smiled at Ella.
"See! I won! Guess I've been trained, right? Now I'M the Jedi Master!"
Ella knew to trust her feelings. And her feelings said that if she didn't agree with her brother, he wouldn't give her a ride back up to the house.
