Son, take a seat over here next to your old man. There's something I want to talk to you about. You see, Son, when a boy reaches a certain age, he needs to start thinking about his future. Who he's going to be. What he's going to do. How many sons he's going to have.
I know that all seems like a long ways off, but I was just about your age when my daddy had this conversation with me. And it's the same conversation his daddy had with him, and his daddy's daddy had with his daddy before him. Do you see what I'm gettin' at, Son?
OK, let me put it another way. Say you plant a seed in the dirt, OK? And you water that seed and it soon grows into a flower. If you were to accidentally bury that flower in dirt, it would suffocate and die. It needs air and sunshine and water to live. Do you understand now?
What I'm saying is, if you're running up and down the court, you need a little leg room. Follow me there, kid? Atta boy, I knew you would. A chip off the ol' block.
