My wife's favorite pillow. A must for breast-feeding mothers. It saves your back and is comfy!

These are great for newborns.. My wife and I have bought three of them this year for various baby showers..They are great!.

Now if we can only have our own kids..maybe i should be preemptive and purchase a few!

http://www.boppy.com/ here is their site!

we had 2. one for use and one for washing. fantastic pillow that got much use and provided many photo ops when the babies were propped up/sitting up using the pillow.

If you need a lot of reviews... Amazon.com has 134 of them. It averaged out as a 4 star rating.

AskTheMomma does her best to sell it. Sounds like a good idea. Although, A lot of the bad reviews I read say if you have a long torso this doesn't work too well. The only logical solution is to buy 3

We used the Boppy every day until our son turned 1, great for breast feeding and great for resting your arms while holding the baby! Couldn’t of lived without it

A great pillow to have even if you don't breastfeed. My daughter used it as a newborn to lie down in while I folded laundry, used it for tummy time and even used it to help her sit up when she got old enough.

Boppy was a true must-have with both my babes. I tried other nursing pillows but nothing was as good as boppy. Tons of uses and very durable too! I had one for both kids and it is still going after 4ish total years of nursing. Cannot say enough good things about the boppy and that cover is too cute!

This pillow is the absolute best. I tell the laboring moms to bring ONE thing only to the hospital: the BOPPY!! (Ok, two things: the boppy and the dad! In that order.)
This pillow enables the baby to be positioned for feeding and get you a hand freed up.
I also wrapped my kids up like a burrito (the way they do in the hospital) and propped them up in the boppy to sleep. They felt cuddled and were happy!!

My wife uses this and it work great. Also makes a good seat for them when their young.

This is something that is totally worth the money.

She had another foam one that was flat and wrapped around her but that was annoying to have to put on while this is just a pillow that wraps around quickly.

Great to get the cover - it will receive puke. Ours has lasted for through two kids and is still used by our two year old to lay on the floor with.

Are you pregnant? Do you know someone who's pregnant? Do you have a little baby? Did you just have a little baby? Do you know a baby?

YOU WANT THIS PILLOW.

You can use it to:
-Put baby on a bed, and look at him/her
-Tummy time!
-Baby can't quite sit up yet? Toss him in the boppy... it'll prop him.
-Use to prop up the baby while breast feeding
-Use to prop baby when bottle feeding (will save your elbows. Seriously.
-Just had a baby? Sit on it. Seriously, its shape is good for sore lady parts.
-Pregnant, and have to lay on your side? This pillow works wonders to support head and neck and shoulders.. I'm not kidding, this thing saved my marriage.
- Did I mention it saves marriages?
- Had A C-Section? You can rest the baby securely in this and not have to strain yourself holding the baby (no joke... a 9 lb baby is murder on recently operated on abd muscles.)
- If you're a pumper, and don't use a pumping bra, it'll save your arms while holding the pumps up... or you can put the kidlet in it and know he's not gonna wiggle away.

Warning though... When your little guy can roll over, you really don't wanna leave him unattended (duh) because they can usually roll OVER the pillow too.... but until then... You can put the kidlet on the couch, or bed, and know he's not going anywhere.

(I use he way too much here, but I just had a son, and swear by this pillow. I sleep with it EVERY night.)

I purchased a boppy for nursing with my first child (who's 9 tomorrow!). I'm a larger woman (size 16... and then some, some years) and I couldn't use the boppy for nursing. It just isn't a comfortable fit around me to support the baby. I nursed three children, and found a light polyfill pillow to be far more supportive and workable.

However, I do love the boppy for holding on to children. It is great support for a young infant, for "tummy time" and to help kids who haven't quite mastered sitting up. It's far more versatile than that newfangled plastic chair thing (I was given a seat for my youngest, who hated being constricted in it but loved the boppy).

Nursing or not, this is a great item.

Love my Boppy! We have had ours for 4 years now, and currently the child is sleeping on it to keep her head elevated while she has a head cold.

I also still use it as a soft lap desk.

My wife will swear by these.. esp if you are breastfeeding. Things are tough as it is with a newborn and sleep, this helps prop the kid up for any type of feeding. Makes things so much easier on your back.

The best breastfeeding pillow out there! I own two (one in the baby's room, one in the living room). More comfy that MyBreastFriend pillow. Both of my babies love it!

My wife loves these. She freaked out when she saw the price. This was the first time she actually told me to buy something. Usually she just says "nah, we don't really need it."

In for one. Never was able to use the bobby for breastfeeding because I am too tall buy it works great for all the other reasons listed. Having baby #6 on the 25th so this is perfect timing. Plus it helps my older children with holding the baby safely and comfortably.

Just my 2 cents on nursing pillows... I felt that for breastfeeding a newborn, the Boppy wasn't that great. A newborn is "floppy" and I felt that the baby wasn't very secure balancing on the rounded shape of the Boppy. I do think the Boppy is great after your baby is about 2 or 3 months old when they have more muscle control. I would recommend buying the My Brestfriend pillow to take to the hospital. The shape of the My Brestfriend is more secure for mom and the baby. After a couple of months switch to the Boppy since it's easier to use.

From a mom of 2 breastfed kids.

Sure we used them with the kids. I have 3 breast fed kids. I only used them for nursing when they were very small. The boppies were useful for early floor time and great for doing pictures. But what we really used them the most for, was gaming.

They were the BEST for holding game controllers for really long marathon gaming sessions.

I had one of these when my daughter was a baby. It was very useful for nursing when she was a newborn, and it came in handy again later when I had surgery. I wish mine had had a slipcover, since it was rather inconvenient to wash the whole thing.

Didn't help me for nursing at all. But this is ideal for headcolds for mom when she can't take anything useful while breastfeeding. Face down sleeping is so much easier!

Considering it's used for nursing, "first sucker" to buy takes on a whole new meaning...

I love my Boppy pillow and will be getting another as a spare. Between this and the last week's Seventh Generation diapers, my baby's being SPOILED. (Unfortunately he is terrified by the screaming Woot monkey his brother got last year.)

How are these different than the $10 pillows one buys at the airport for neck support? Size? Firmness density?

It's about ten times the size of a neck pillow. For nursing, this is worn around the body.

fwiw, The My Breast Friend pillow is generally preferred for nursing and is what is recommended by lactation consultants. The reason is that the boppy is curved, and so the baby tends to roll into the dip made between the space between the mom and the pillow. The MBF sits flush against the mom, so no dip.

Not everyone may prefer the MBF over the Boppy, but keep in mind there are other options out there now. (MBF is fairly new, so 3+ years ago, Boppy was pretty much it.)

I'm still contemplating getting one, though, for all the other, non-breastfeeding functions mentioned here.

The boppy was our "could not live without" baby item. If I had to keep just one item of baby gear...this would have been it!

I did not use it for breast-feeding. We used it to lie our daughter in when we were not holdig her. She was always very content to just lie in her boppy. As she got a bit older we used it for tummy time and to support her as she learned to sit up.

Definitely a must have!

If you are having a baby or know someone having a baby, buy one of these. Heck, buy 3. We have 8 month old twins and use them everyday (one upstairs and one down). Great for feeding, propping up baby when they're tiny, tummy time if they don't like having their face on the floor, and keeping them from face-planting when they're learning to sit up.

Sad that Animal Playground is sold out, since it's extra-cute. A Boppy is among my top-ten list of baby glad-I-hads.

In for one of the pink stripe ones. My wife is due in September, and we just found out we are having a girl. When we were looking at these at Target they were at least $10 more for the pillow and a cover.

Best purchase next to a Diaper Genie. Would definitely recommend for breastfeeding mothers. Also helps baby learn to sit up on their own, along with some tummy time activities.
Boppy on Babies R Us is about $30 without a specialized cover. Those run another $10. This is a good deal and a great gift for any soon-to-be-mother.

I loved my Boppy for nursing, and I'm bigger than you are (20W), so perhaps the message here is YMMV.

I also used the Boppy just to hold my son, as did other family members. This was particularly nice when he got bigger but would still let me hold him and sing him to sleep at bedtime. He's 2 now and the Boppy has finally been retired, but it was the best investment for the first 1.5 years.

I actually purchased the blue/green boa slipcover as an extra to swap out when I was washing the one that came with my Boppy (white and green with two lambs). I preferred the original cover for ease in carrying by grabbing the raised seam along the outside, but otherwise it functioned just as well and was soft.

My son spent plenty of time propped up in his Boppy too.

Choose a color that matches your baby's puke

Attention parents-to-be: That color would be in the "white to pus-yellow" family, unless you're feeding your baby chocolate breastmilk/formula.

How tall are you? My sis is 6'1" and she also swears by the boppy for nursing.

I love mine- I used it while pregnant for a travel pillow in the car: can hold on to it much better than a regular pillow when leaning against the window to sleep and it stays put, and I used it to support the bump. Now, I use it for nursing, for sleeping when my neck hurts, for extra support when holding le bebe (especially when she naps on me), as a cat rest when I'm napping, and as a travel pillow in the car (still.)

If I'd known how great of an in-car travel pillow this was, I'd have gotten one a long time ago.

I'm only 5'7, but I always had to hunch over for my baby and my breast to meet. Tried different positions but it never worked out comfortably for either of us. Maybe it was the brand of boppy,I don't know.
