Aw, man! Been waiting for a Thomas set to show up (since my son just started getting into this series) and we already have this one! It is the ONLY set we have love it though...maybe we'll see a new set offered soon!?

Not for the first time, I have read this item as "Thomas Mann in the Hills Playset."

Which would be for much older kids.

We purchased this on its last woot. Typical, great Thomas quality. A lot of pieces for the price. The little shed with the rotating items is a nice touch. Sir Handel is a retired engine, so that really sealed the deal for us. I'd grab this one as, for Thomas, it's a great value and is a lot of fun. I love rolling the milk into the little dairy car over and over again and I'm a 35 year-old female.

Now that I've had a better look at it I think it needs to be called "Old Croghan Man on a hill"

I'd get it if it were a motorized Thomas. Son took his motorized Percy into the bath :-( Still, not a bad price, but the non-motorized ones kinda suck and add up like crazy come birthday & Xmas time.

taxsucks doesn't work because the total is 39.99 and has to be 40.01 or over...but with tax total is 43.29... just my 2 cents but that sucks!

Anyone know if this is compatible with the cheap IKEA train set, or at least the same "gauge" of sorts?

Yes, it's compatible.

It is, except for the IKEA tunnel and bridge pieces. IKEA trains are shorter and the Thomas trains won't fit under the tunnels and bridges. Not a big deal but slightly annoying.

This version of the man in the hills seems to be missing some of the original equipment.

Google "The Cerne Abbas Giant" for more detail. Literally. May be NSFW for some folks.

Anyone else think an accompanying CSI set needs to investigate why there's a chalk outline of the Man in the Hills?

Brought 1. But it didn't seem to change the status bar much.
