I bought two of these last time and they have been wonderful. Some things that are worth knowing.

The latch system is under the fabric.
There is not a built in level to ensure proper angle.
Very easy to clean.
Let's your child stay rear facing longer.

Here is the last woot

I bought two of these the last time they were listed. At first I HATED it, but that's only because the instructions are not the greatest and I had some trouble figuring out how to install it. You have to make sure the strap that the clips are attached to that you connect to the latch anchors in your car is flat, to do that you have to slide it out of the loop it's in.

The next thing that was tough was figuring out how to resnap the cover of the seat after it was attached to the car, because when it's facing backwards (recommended now for kids up to 2 years old) the snaps are pushed up against the seat. I finally figured out that I needed to attach the anchors, tighten as much as I could, then disconnect one anchor, snap the seat closed, and reconnect the anchor - works like a charm.

I still have some issues occasionally tightening and loosening the restraint, because the latch is blocked when the seat is rear-facing, but if you attach the seat tilted slightly backwards, you should be fine.

Convertible car seat huh? No kid of mine is going to be getting a convertible before I do. Especially not a pink one.

Looks like it would be a comfortable ride @ a pretty nice price.

I bought one in the fall and my mother bought one last time. We love our car seats!! This is a very comfortable seat. The only thing that I don't love about this seat is the restraint system underneath of it... I think the Feds need to re-evaluate the way it is made. Personally, I think it might be dangerous; the way it is setup is very odd and makes no sense to me. I'll stick to loving my Britax and using this one as needed.

So you love it but don't use it?

True Fits are one of the few convertible car seats that will fit into smaller cars, such as the older model Honda Civics. They are kindof wide though, so don't plan on being able to use them side-by-side with another TrueFit or an Infant bucket carrier.

In response to the latch to loosen/tighten the harness and the difficulty at getting to it, we just leave it tightened down unbuckle the chest strap and the button to release the shoulder straps. The shoulder harness is a continuous loop and you can pull each one to free the baby's arms. This is just an idea as it has worked pretty well for us with extended rear facing. Remove of the seat padding is really easy and we have had to wash/hang dry a few times and it still looks great.

Sooooo what exactly is unsafe (in your opinion?) about the bottom restraints?

Bought one in a previous woot. It's not hard to install. If you use it rear facing, be sure to test the harness on your child before installing, as the strap that tightens or loosens the harness is hard to reach.

Other than the straps being hard to reach we've been very happy with this seat.

Bought this on the last woot for our 2nd car. It's great!

Since this is an older model (they now have C670), what is the manufacture date of this seat? I don't want to lose precious time because of this.

This model isn't older. There are 3 different models of this car seat, the C630, C650, and C670. All are highly rated by the National Highway Transportation Administration, with the C630 earning 4 stars and the C670 earning 5 stars. The C670, also called Premier, has a rebound bar for when it is used in a rear-facing position. We have 2 C670 models and we're very happy with them. However, they both are a tight fit when installed in the rear-facing position in our vehicles (a 2005 Honda Civic and a 2002 Subaru Outback).

Epic car seat system, but I suspect my son would harbor some bitterness down the road if I got it for him. Just saying.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I was thinking the same thing. I was hoping there was a more gender neutral option. Oh well. I guess I'll be passing on this one.

There WAS an alternate color when these last came around, I'm guessing the pink/brown are all that's left.

I got this one last time, and who's to say my daughter won't harbor the same grudge???

Very good seat. Does everything you would hope for, the shoulder straps adjust up and down for a wide range of heights which is nice.

I also like when you get you child in, and tighten the straps, it pulls the chest buckle towards their lap instead of towards their face, as is the case with my other seat.

A little funky to install, but I've installed it, and there it has lived hence-froth.

Remember that something like 70-80% of car seats are installed incorrectly even if you have followed the instructions. Many fire departments offer free car seat inspection and will fix/complete the install if not done 100% properly.

May seem like a waste of time, but those guys really do get the seat in more secure and that's the whole point, right? Of course a small donation to the firehouse where you make your appointment is always welcomed.

Has anyone used this seat for an infant under 10 pounds? When I look at comparisons of this model vs. C650 and C670 it says this one doesn't recline, but the video shows moving the bar thingy underneath to recline. Does it recline to a 45 degree angle with this bar?

I am trying to decide whether to buy this one for my 14 month old grand daughter or look for something else. If it truly fits them until they are around 50 lbs. that is a plus. A friend suggested a cosco one at walmart for $40 was about the same. Confused, to say the least, and I don't know what to do....

I have this carseat in a different color and LOVE it. That's why I bought a second one. This was the carseat I moved my daughter into after she outgrew her infant seat. It is so roomy and I love the fact that she can stretch her legs out. She easily and comfortably still fits in it rear-facing at age 2. I will keep her rear-facing as long as possible. In contrast, I bought a Britax and hate it! The child's legs dangle down and rear-facing in it was comical-looking. I could not wait to buy another True Fit.

I bought one of these on the last woot I have since looked at the cheaper ones at Wal Mart they are not the same. This one has more padding, features etc. The back rest has allowed our daughter to stay rear facing. She rode in it on two 1600 mile round trips over the holidays without any trouble. The other reviews are correct about this seats shortcomings but overall we are very happy with it and use it daily. i believe wal mart does carry this seat online at a much higher price

Thank you so much for your helpful comments. I went to target dot com and read the reviews for the cosco one and people said the shell was very flimsy. I went ahead and bought this one. For $60 more, it looks like a MUCH better seat. And, this is a really good price, compared to what other online retailers are selling it for. The pink certainly works for me!

I bought this during the last Woot, and I don't love it (or hate it.)

Pros: It is VERY nice and padded, easy to clean, easy to adjust strap height.

Cons: Cup holder is in a weird spot and sticks way out from the seat. It was a PITA to install. Compared to our other seat (MyRide65, which I LOVE!), it was HORRIBLE- confusing instructions, the whole 'everything that you're supposed to attach/adjust is now smooshed into the back of the seat' thing, etc. Also, I really don't like that the shoulder straps are connected to each other (in the back). You pull one up to put the first arm in, and then really have to yank on the second strap to avoid having one really tight and one really loose. It's really hard to get them even, especially when they are buckled. At first I thought there was something wrong with the seat, because I'd never seen straps that were connected like that.

Thank you. That's exactly the info I was looking for. I'd rather pay a little more for a 7 or 9 year exp date.

It's not going to last you 7-9 yrs, anyway, regardless of the expiration... the harness is outgrown at 65lbs, or when the torso ht is too tall for it, that will probably be around 6... For $100, it will get me and the baby due in May till at least 4yrs old... if not a bit further, if that makes sense...

The Cosco one your friend is referring to is the Cosco Scenera. It has little to know padding, has NO side protection foam, so the Scenera would HAVE to go in the middle or hope you dont get broadsided on the side the baby is on, which is why I decided not to go with it... I have a nearly 10 yr old who is still harnessed (albeit in a special needs seat that is attached to her booster) so she has to be able to access the buckle, thus the baby can't go in the middle of my car, and has to sit outboard behind the driver's seat, so I NEED a seat with side protection.

Actually, it fits my kids just fine. My son is 7 and only 41 pounds for example, and I expect my 20 month daughter to be the same.

Not to mention the families that plan on using for younger children (I'm not one of those, but it's pretty common). You want the extended use like Britax and Sunshine Kids.

If my daughter is only 60lbs in 2017 I'm sure it can last a few more months to get her over the limit.

Love this seat! Bought it 2 1/2 years ago on woot for my daughter. A little heavy to carry around (like in the airport - but buckle the straps and put your arm through the shoulder straps, it will be ok.)but really easy to use. Lock offs for seatbelt use are tight, LATCH buckles are super easy and the padding snaps on and off for cleaning without removing the harness.

I wasn't a believer at first, but now that I purchased a Britax, not only are the limits higher, but the seat is much safer. When I try to move the Britax seat, my whole car shakes. When I try to move my non-Britax seat, the seat has some 'play' in it that I can't seem to get rid of.
