People say it is because we are living longer that we experience the downsides of immobility, aches and pains. I do not think that is necessarily so, as all of my grandparents (well 4 people anyhow) were NOT using walkers, canes, etc. in their 70's and early/mid 80's. Of course, perhaps the ones who would have had died off already. It was in their late 80's and one 90-year old - that is when the physical limitations showed up bigtime. AND they were not taking prescriptions for all sorts of stuff until later on either. In any regard, I do not appear to have inherited the trouble-free late years.

A family moved nextdoor to me - had come from Michigan - young couple with two kids - 6 and 10. The Mom told me the other day that the kids are so excited because they are looking forward to a great bunch of fun people. Well, we are - some of us to some degree, but golden girl variety most of us in this neighborhood are not - and I haven't met any really in my 20 years in this county. I do get around a lot, so I can speak with some conviction. Now, let's see which one would I be? Blanche I guess, given my druthers.

Me too - thanks! We definitely contributed to our own loss with some serious mistakes.

But... It is our first playoff appearance, and we did get one playoff win. (In a season where at least one of our major players was injured in every game and at the end with a rookie quarterback)

so.. all in all a pretty damn good season for us!

No point in me being here then. Got Ver3's party invite done, now need to decide on this coming Saturday or the one after.... I want to keep it casual so I'm thinking nearer, but schools are closed tomorrow so the soonest the parents will get the invites is Tues. Stupid decisions.

then do it week after. Just had the conversation this weekend with several people about the inconvenience of an invitation to a b-day party, shower, etc the week it is being held. Unless you are close to everyone you are inviting and you've asked and they don't mind.

well only you know the people you are inviting, and if they will mind. I would say that if you are doing it this weekend then a phone call or email is needed as soon as possible.

I would if I knew them, unfortunately, I haven't met my son's friends' parents yet. I don't get to go to the daycare anymore and Orc isn't very reliable in that area. It took him over a week to find out the names of who Ver3 plays with the most. I am going to invite a couple people from church, on is in Ethiopia right now, and I can call them, but the classmates... no way to contact them until Tues. I've thought about doing the party on a Sun too, but that has it's own issues.

Also locally, it may be a pain, but it's very common to get invites less than 48 hours before the party, Ver1 got an invite Friday night for a Saturday morning party, this is kind of normal, but I knew that mom...

that's kind of what we are defaulting to. I just don't want the moms to feel like they have to come if it's inconvenient. We have to have a party for him though, because he's been talking about it for two months.
