Anything that has to tell you it's "Super Special" probably isn't.

Kinda cute...but I doubt that "bubble wand" would even be capable of making bubbles.

I try to be appreciative of anything someone buys my child and hope to teach him to do the same. Personally I think this is cute especially for a little girl.

I bought two of them to give to friends' daughters with the intention of starting a really tacky birthday tradition for their babehs. And I haaaaaaate girl stuff with "princess" on it. Ugh.

Blame the iPhone spell check not the illiterate typist.

And LED's would make this at least "Cool"

Not that it matters but;
Old pewter is made from tin and lead. Since there is no safe level for lead exposure, I wouldn't use it.

Modern pewter is supposed to be lead-free and safe to use. It is made from 95% tin, plus copper and antimony.

The largest producers of antimony are China, Russia, Bolivia, South Africa, and Kyrgyzstan, in that order. The United States produces antimony as a by-product at only one silver mine in Idaho.

Guys it's less than two bucks. Buy 3 and move it along. I'm a mother of 3 and I bought 3, not for my own kids but for 3 little boys who will be turning 1 over the next 4 months. I think they will be precious keepsakes for their mom's for their FIRST BIRTHDAY. Think about it, keep a new pewter candle holder or the cheap wax candle shaped like a one?

Not that I'm some Super Special Birthday Kit vigilante, but did you read the description? It clearly says "Lead Free Pewter" and "MADE IN THE USA" (and yes, it is in all caps). Before you bash it, get your facts straight, Chuck.

You know, I've been looking at computer fonts since the first time I saw a Macintosh, back in 1986. The first thing I did, when someone said, "Hey, TRS-80 guy, check *this* out!", was go to the text pad program and pull down the "Fonts" dropdown. Of course, I picked the random letters font... only to find that every A looked like every other A, and every Z looked like every other Z. It wasn't random at all!

Fast forward twenty-five years, and nothing has changed. The recipe included with this set, designed with a charming juvenile font, looks stupid because every oversized O looks like every other oversized O. I've got Lieutenant Uhura's earpiece and Captain Kirk's communicator, but I'm still stuck with 1986's font limitations.

Cr@p-free no more as of 5/26/2010!

Wow the commenters are brutal on kids.woot!

I took a break from my regularly scheduled woot-off to make my first kids.woot purchase. Too cute to pass up for the price. I even bought 3!

Then I go to the comments and find out everyone thinks I'm stupid for doing it! Sorry for helping move your woot-off along, I'll go about my business...

I don't know what is up with these ugly comments. They are not normally like this on kids.woot Maybe all the r/c devices have made them crazy?

At 2 bucks I finally bit on this. My daughter will love it actually - she is all things princess and fairies right now. Her birthday is on Thanksgiving this year, so you think it will come by then?

Everyone could always go buy the overpriced bingo cards on the regular woot so we could move it along.

I don't know, I think it's adorable. I ordered one for my son's 1st birthday, and 2 to keep for future gifts.

Neither. $11 to me is 2 giant loads of laundry, 2 lunches out; a week or two's worth of cat food, a couple of dinners, etc. All the little dollars add up, and I'm not going to buy some piece of garbage trinket that nobody needs just to help other people move on to the next thing in the hopes it'll be something better.

My *wife* has a super special birthday coming up... turning 55. Somehow, I don't think she'll appreciate one of these.

truly great for you that the cost of living for your location and lifestyle is so low that 11 bucks takes you so far!

This is my first kids.woot! and i'm in for three because i have a few first birthdays in line- I have to agree that their mothers would probably love these as easy keepsake gifts!

Wouldn't a better first birthday keepsake be a pic from the camera that you bought over on regular old woot!?

Seriously, "I scream, you scream" on the handles of the spoon? "Princess Bubbles Wishes" on the girl bubble want? Princess Bubbles wishes what? Wishes that I'll choke on this silver spoon? I don't even *know* Princess Bubbles! Where does she get off wishing me anything, let alone that I'll choke! Princess Bubble Butt is more like it...that b****....

No you're right...this is just one of those items that has haunted us here at kids.woot, so we get that knee-jerk "kill me now" feeling when we see it on a frustratingly slow woot-off day.

Sorry, little pewter thing-a-ma-bobs. May you bring cheer to little birthday babies everywhere.
