Good morning everybody! Third run of green beans came out of the canner a little after midnight. I'm pretty sure we filled the jars a little too full. I would like to try again. There is a learning curve!

Ice, we have to go to Boone for the weekend. As chilly as it was here Saturday morning, I bet they had frost!

Morning. Sorry I've been MIA...being sick and having a lot of stuff to get done makes it tough to do more than post and run.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Sorry you were sick. Hope you're feeling better.

Good morning everyone. Have to take the twins across the street to school this morning. Later.

I feel better, but in the words of my boss, I sound 'like you smoke 2 packs a day.' Think Selma and Patty from the Simpsons. Totally not sexy.

M-i-l's eye doctor visit completed. I'm friggin' worn out.
Told her I'd leave @ 7:30 to pick her up, @ 7:31 I get a call from her asking if I'd forgotten..."ah no, I'm right around the corner..."Then she argues where the office is... Her apointment was @ 8 so we waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes until someone showed up to unlock the office doors.
She then argues with the girls there on what tests she had done last time she was there.
Shoot me now please!

I need a friggin' nap.

AZGMan--did your area get hit with flooding from Lee? It just missed me, but friends south of me were hammered.

A lot areas were hit hard by localized flooding; still many roads closed due to washouts and bridge failures.

We started out with ground close to saturation, but there was a month or so with no rainfall, and that let a lot of places dry out. My mom visited in July, and there were places that were very dry then. Same places are floating away now.

That's about what we saw in NJ yesterday. A few roads still with standing water, lots of businesses with little stock on the shelves.

Granddaughter #2 has a study hall first bell, so she's allowed to come in in time for second bell. That wouldn't have been thought of when I was in school. It really helps this year with no busing for high school, that way traffic consisting of hundreds of new drivers can be avoided.

We didn't have to come in if we didn't have a first period class.

Yeah, it did. The snow runoff filled everything. They it was a heavy rain year. Then we got the hurricane. They all interacted , because we stole TX's rain this year. There was no place for the water to go. .... starting with the snow runoff making no waterway below normal levels before the summer rain.

Yeah, it's tough on the family, or at least what's left of the family, when there's no one there.

The other room in the funeral home had a guy in his 50's who was one of 11 kids. Needless to say, that funeral was packed.

Plus, I think he use to spend half the year in FL when he was able to travel. So if there were friends who could still go, they would be there.
